inuk's bird sanctuary holds 4 limited areas design to resemble their natural environment while healing or recovering before releasing them back to their natural habitat. we work aligned to semarnat's (Mexico's Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales) laws and partnered with proyecto santa maría, a national ngo that protects and preserves mexicos natural heritages, to guarantee a safe shelter for the animals.
the primary species you might find into inuk's grounds are tucans, hummingbirds, parrots and Macaws.
not only we farm our favorite fruits but we also protect and reproduce endangered regional flora. with assistance from the C.I.C.Y. (Centro de Investigación y Ciencias de Yucatán), we collect, reproduce and replace rescued plants from yucatán, campeche and quintana roo while at the same time cultivating through sustainable techniques healthy and clean food.
All residents are allowed to use the community garden following one simple concept that the author robin wall kimmerer calls "a covenant of reciprocity": you can take something but you have to give something in return. in the garden you'll find a collection of seeds, tools and manuals so people can learn how to properly take care of a garden and how to cultivate and harvest food, this way we can repay the earth for the gifts it has provided.

its walls are aligned with the sun motion providing natural shade, and its round design helps us feel sheltered while at the same time exposing us to the nature that surrounds us.
Use of Chucum (natural burnished concrete), a regional material collected from local communities to cover the walls reducing the carbon footprint from transportation. The implementation of this element helps keep the inside of the buildings cool to reduce the use of ac's.

Terrace walls have a hollow inside layer filled with ground that allows plants to grow creating a natural green wall helping keep the inside of the buildings cool.

All spaces that are not inside the building do not use concrete for the floor, only natural ground is used allowing the earth to breathe and the water to flow naturally, this includes the parking lots.

The apartment tower is aligned to the sea currents allowing the wind-flow to move from the ocean through the building keeping it always fresh.
Sanitary sewage is collected and sent to the municipal sewer system avoiding the use of septic tanks that damage the aquifer layer.

There is no use of gas in the whole project. all services (like hot water and stoves) are electric.

Electricity charges are billed as low-voltage residential service and there’s no fee for maximum demand. For example, in the Country Club apartments use a medium-voltage rate, so even empty units or ones used only once a month end up with higher bills.

All units have a constant pressure triple pumping system controlled by a speed variator to reduce the use of electric energy.

Garbage is divided using the organic waste to create natural compost for the community and the reproductive gardens.

the Gardens create a living natural corredor using only regional flora to guarantee the protection of endemic brids and pollinators so their natural environment wont be affected by the construction. This also reduce the water usage as the regional plants are not affected by the dry nor rainy seasons.

Through the protection of ground brids (such as quails and wild turkeys) we control insect pests such as ants, spiders, termites, cockroaches, etc.
